About Me

Dr Vicki O'Gorman, BA (Hons) DVM, PGDip (clinical animal behaviour), MRCVS, CAB

Hi, I'm Vicki.

I am a vet, graduated at the top of my class in 2013 and have worked in small animal practice ever since. I completed a post graduate diploma, with distinction, in Clinical Animal Behaviour at the University of Edinburgh. I am an accredited Veterinary Behaviourist and Clinical Animal Behaviourist registered with the Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC) and a full member with the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC).

I am also working towards RCVS Advance Practitioner Status in Clinical Animal Behaviour.

Consequently I have knowledge of both veterinary medicine and animal behaviour which enables a greater understanding of your pet's overall mental and physical health.

I am here to help explain why our cats and dogs do things that we wish they didn't!

My interest in behaviour came from experiencing first hand how difficult it is to be an owner of a "difficult" (I prefer misunderstood!) dog.

Meet Molly our almost 13 year old JRT. She is complex and I sought advice from a behaviourist when we struggled to understand her  seemingly, "out of the blue" behaviour change when our children were born.

Having been where you are, I can empathise with what you are going through and be realistic about what is achievable.

There are no quick fixes, but with dedication, patience, and the right type of guidance I can help you understand why the behaviour is there and how we can teach our beloved dogs and cats that there is an alternative.

By teaching our dogs and cats how to cope with their emotions and motivations we can help them live happier and enriched lives.
